Since I suspect it was my post that started the whole CO vs CO2 debate...
To those of you that have used the Wave for years with zero problems, I'd be willing to bet you also do allow for ventilation, which is all I was trying to say in my post. Given proper ventilation CO is not produced. Without proper ventilation, CO2 will buildup and available O2 decline which will lead to CO production. After that, whether it was lack of O2 or buildup of CO that makes you a statistic is left to the ME.
As long as you're aware you need some ventilation, the Wave can be a great addition to your camper. But it is something you must keep in mind. Unless your camper is loose enough that you have adequate ventilation with all the doors and windows closed, but that's another issue. :)
Sorry if my earlier post was taken as a condemnation of catalytic heaters. That was not my intent. Back in my van days I used one, but also always made sure I had the roof vent and one of the side windows open slightly when I used it.
