That Avan Frances my BIL is interested in was priced at ~ $50,000 AUD$, equivalent to ~ $49,000 CDN$ or ~ $39,000 USD$. It's similar in size and amenities to my Coachmen Freedom Express 192RBS which is priced here in Canada at ~ $26,000 CDN, negotiable of course but not including any hitch equipment, tax, license, insurance, etc. No question about it though, caravans in Australia are significantly more expensive than here in N America, 'though to be fair advertised pricing is "all in" and includes any necessary towing equipment, tax, even license tags and insurance for the first year. Higher product quality may be one reason but certainly higher Australian wage rates would be another. Regardless, caravanning is really popular Down Under, no doubt due to favourable weather year 'round pretty well anywhere, and Australians seem willing to pay these prices.
