bookmaker - I spent some time on the Carolina beaches growing up. It wasn't until I moved to TN that I visited the panhandle beaches. As far as beaches go, they're the prettiest I've ever seen. And no sand pumping is needed in St George, at least in the park area.
nycsteve - The campground and beach at Topsail are nice enough and shopping and restaurants are close for me the campground is too big, the beach too far, and development too close. I preferred St George. The natural surroundings and nearby small town sights of St George were very appealing to me and it was cheaper than Topsail too. How was St Joe?
Sleepy - I remembered you mentioning the gravel lot at the end of the bridge and kept it in mind should the park not have room for us. Glad they did though as it allowed me to watch the sunrise on a natural beach.
