Rides yes, handles, um no. The F250 is a lot more composed when loaded, a bit more traditional in it's "trickiness". The Ford has the all around camera, with Trailer Backup assist. I've never even set it up, but it's there.

If you start to negotiate on a GM truck, I can share the GM Friends price certificate. This will make it a set price, and eligible for some incentives.

My parents own a '16 Chevy Duramax and I own a '12 Ford Power Stroke and I would say both trucks have a similar on the road ride.

Buy a new Silverado V8... according to my local dealer, they get 38 MPG! Maybe they used to sell RV’s in a past life!

OP... test drive them both, also include the Ram with the 6.4 engine. All will be similar in performance for a gas engine. All will be good trucks no matter what you chose. Gas engines have come along way. Much improved with power displacement and gearing to match. Like I said before it comes down to personal taste and what you wallet says. Being a 3/4 ton they will ride ruff at times no doubt. My 09 has the famous GM frame beaming around 50 mph.... fords sometimes have the so called death wobble. I think the newer GM trucks got rid of the frame beaming. I would really like to have the newer one myself but pocket book says no and I only have 80 plus k miles on the 09. So like new as some say. Anyway check them out and let us know what u choose. All will serve you well and all are very reliable for sure.

I was hammering down this county road the other day in my 2012 F250 and thought of this old saying, "rides like a log wagon."

Kinda what I expect keeping the old saying in mind, "you can't have your cake and eat it too."

If you've not driven/owned a 17 or newer Ford, than your ride and handling statements are outdated as the 17 Ford was all new, or pretty close to it.

As far as the camera system goes: video

Not outdated at all........was driving an 18 250 the other day and my 15 GMC 2500 has a much better ride and handling characteristics than the 18 250. That's in the real world driving over PA's pothole ridden roads which we have to deal with every spring.

Thanks for the video but I have made it through 35 years on construction sites and maneuvering trailers without all those cameras. I'd bet dollars to donuts that the two guys in that videos first day on a site was when they made the video LOL. The new hardhats and high vis vests look nice though.

I can only imagine what fixing that system costs once the warranty is expired based on its price as an option.

I’ve driven in several GM 2500/3500srw and have owned two super duties, they both ride like **** on the roughest of roads, in fact so does the Ram, these aren’t softly sprung for comfort half ton’s - for what they are meant to do i’m Fine with that.

Arguing about ride quality in these is like saying that the latest flare up of hemorrhoids are better than the last!

For what it’s worth, the 6.2 coupled with fords newest 6 speed auto seems to be the best performing of the big three gassers currently but all three are going to work just fine with your load.
