Well, I’m not an oil fanboy and I’m not a chemist, but I am astute enough to realize value and sometimes there’s actually value in higher priced items, sometimes.
However we each have our own preferences. If we didn’t, there wouldn’t be 50 different oils on the shelf at Autozone!
I’ve seen the difference with quality lubes. Not saying other brands won’t perform as well, but some first hand experience says there’s a difference.
Personally I use Amsoil or other top end lubes in finals, transfer cases, extreme load situations mostly because I’m lazy. I’d rather spend twice as much on the oil and crawl under the truck half as often.
