Even with the WD applying upward forces, the hitch should work the same since there is a torsion joint on top and bottom. Either way the hitch moves (up or down) will be cushioned with this hitch.
I've got a ProPride, so I don't see how this could work with that hitch, but I think it's a great idea for any large trailer that gets taken any long distance down the road.
