Getting around

I wonder if you could put trail tires on the Honda Grom and turn it into a semi-trail bike?

Sorry, I missed your post. Yes, of course she rides the other WR250R..she is fast and I am always yelling in the headset radios we wear for her to slow down :D

We lowered hers by replacing a part in the rear suspension with a shorter arm and moving the front shocks as far up as they would go without hitting the handlebars. She still has to stand on tiptoe. I am 6'7" and love the tall bike.

We take our Suzuki Burgman 650 with us in an enclosed cargo trailer. We ride 2-up. This summer we will be riding the San Juan Skyway and all over Yellowstone!! We can't wait!!

The Burgman is a large scooter weighing over 650lbs with full tanks. It gets only 50mpg or so with 2-up riding at 50-55mph, so not the greatest on fuel. Speed up to 115mph (but never us!!). We have been riding one since 2005, and we currently own a 2012 model.

Suzuki also makes a smaller Burgman 400 which I highly recommend.

Just bought this TW 200. This is on a recent trip to Death Valley. Worked good. Surprised at the power for a 200. But anything over 55 MPH is straining it.

Awesome looking bikes and I don't think that the sound would offend many people. I was thinking about the new Honda Grom bikes myself. If I had a picture handy I would try to post it.

Like you, I use get around vehicles, whether backcountry skis, mountain bikes, Kayaks, or motorcycles. Having these, at my disposal, only extends the range of my Truck Camper and enjoyment.

Even though I fulltime in my Truck Camper, there are about 10 to 12 nights/days a year that I am off backpacking and bike camping. The below picture is one of these times as I was spending a few nights out exploring Idaho, on my 08 BMW GS1200R Adventure

This is my 06 Honda CRFX450, prior to converting to street legal, that I use for more extreme desert and mountain backcountry road travel. I used this bike considerably in Death Valley last month. This bike is geared for low speed, high traction, so it is very limited on the street, even while licensed and insured.





Whatever you might choose, find something that fits your needs and ability.

Street legal but good on single track WR250R dual sports. Able to do 70mph+ on the hwy, get 65mpg, fuel injected so they don't require a 20 min warm up, 280 pounds dry.
