Getting ready to start camping again....

Howdy!

It's been too long since My wife and I camped!

Kids are grown and it's time!

We will be pulling with a F150 with the 3.5 eco boost.

We'd like to stay with a smaller camper but we are looking for the best quality we can find!

Most that we've gone through look like junk........

I'd like to stay at 25' or less, queen bed, full bath......

Can't wait for the first trip!
  • Every manufacturer makes what you are looking for. To get the best quality, you will have to go and look at what is offered. You will be amazed at how many TTs will fit your wish list.

Also, each manufacturer is going to have people that think they are junk and people who love them and wouldn't have anything else.

Since you haven't done this in a while, you might want to consider a 2-3 year old used model. That way, many of the bugs have been worked out and the first year depreciation is done. There are lots of the out there - people have purchased new, hoping they will like the lifestyle and then hating it or it's too much work or they don't have enough time to justify the expense.

Look at your local craigslist first. If you find something you like, take someone who knows campers with you to check it over. If you like the price and the first look, hire an RV tech to go check it out. Yes, it will cost you a few hundred bucks, but it could save you thousands in the long run.

    Good luck!
  • IMO 25 feet with a slide will be enough space....but not for full timing.
  • I'd buy the TT in my signature again in a heartbeat if something happened to this one. FYI, in spite of the model number it is up at your max length.

    But I'd also look at:
    Arctic Fox
    Grand Design
    Lance

    Best regards,
    Chris
  • Make a list of what you want. Rent a similar unit for a week or so. Find a used unit.

That is what we did. No buyer's remorse.

Every maker was it's advocates and distracters.
  • Being from Pendleton I'd go Outdoors RV. Northwood MFG makes decent trailers but IMHO ORV's are nicer looking inside and out. Same or better build quality with more standard features.
Guessing you've been to Thompson RV? If you have and have looked at ORV and Northwood and think they're junk then you need to take the next step and look at Airstreams because those two MFG's are about as good as it gets in traditional travel trailers.
Grand Design would be 3rd on my list. But the Imagine line is nowhere as well built as those two. The Reflection TT's are nice but you'll probably over weight with your F150 with them.
