Glad For 2 Year Warranty

Our camper was ready yesterday after only a week! The dealer called and said we could come and pick it up anytime. I went yesterday to get it, and the repairman came out to help me hitch it up. He was super nice, and he made sure that I was satisfied with the repair. He had replaced the couch frame cross braces and added additional support braces underneath each cross piece (which he said should have been there to begin with, in his opinion).

The freezer door inside the little fridge was also replaced.

While looking at the rebuilt bracing under the couch, I joked about the pitiful hole in each of the storage compartment covers under the couch and dinette seats (where you're supposed to be able to stick your finger in to lift them up), so he looked at them. Each one looked like someone had simply gouged out a tiny hole with a small screwdriver (smaller than even a pinky finger) - impossible to lift up the wood cover. The guy had to get out his knife to pry the couch piece up at an edge. He shook his head and went to get his drill. He drilled out a nice small hole in each of the three pieces, so I can access the storage areas easier.

I can't say enough good things about Peco Campers in Tucker, GA! While chatting with the repairman, I found out that he used to build Monacos in Indiana before they closed! He's used to the high-end stuff, so the lack of quality in my cheap little camper aggravated him greatly - lol!

I'm praying now that these annoying issues are behind us, at least for awhile, and that we can enjoy using our camper! We have a trip planned for mid-October and can't wait!!

When you buy a camper you buy it with a brand name on the side, they bought the parts they wanted to buy. They hired the help they wanted to hire to build the trailer. The trailer manufacture decides who sells their product and who services it under warranty. Ultimately it is their product and when something goes wrong it is their problem.

The only time you will have to contact the accessory manufacturers separately is when your Starcraft warranty expires and that item has a warranty that is longer than Starcrafts.

New trailer bugs are bothersome and many RV manufacturers use the end buyer as quality control. I know the new trailers that I have purchased have been much more troublesome than the used ones. With the used ones the previous owner dealt with the new trailer bugs.

Keep pressure on the dealer to make it right. It seems like many service departments have a tendency to forget about you if you don't keep asking how soon your trailer will be ready. Good luck!

Since it's less than 1 year even a NORCOLD has 1 YR warranty and Dometic refers have a 2 year warranty and those warranties apply to all new RV regardless of the RV manufacturer so I'm not sure what your point is:h

Having say a Starcraft RV has absolutely nothing to do with the issue you're talking about here.

You might do well to review and learn what, who and for how long the various things in your RV are warrantied for since you apparently don't understand this information yet.

Well, aren't you just a helpful soul? :R I've had several campers over the years, so I know how this game works. I KNOW all new campers will have some issues. This is, however, the first one that has been built this shoddily.

I KNOW the fridge isn't Starcraft's fault. The two problems I've had with this brand new fridge (Norcold) have been unecessary and frustrating, IMO. It still doesn't cool as well as it should, but it's working better after it's first trip to the dealer. However, the couch being put together the way it was IS Starcraft's fault. The repairman at the dealer couldn't even believe how badly it was built. He plans on rebuilding the frame so that it's sturdy and safe.

I have a good dealer, so I'm not concerned about them ignoring my camper. We've bought from them before, and they have a good reputation (shout out to PECO Campers in Georgia).

I would bungee cord the fridge and try to secure the couch and GO CAMPING then deal with it later.

I would use the camper and take back to the dealer when they can get to it.

Sorry your AR-one is giving you problems. We've had our 17rd for 3 years now and the only problem was the pigtail from the propane tank to the regulator was flaky. Even though it's an entry level trailer it seems to be pretty solid.

Actually it's at the rv repair shop right now, but that was my fault. I clipped the corner cap on a fence backing it into its spot by my house. I blame my back up guide! (Just joking)

If the trailer is usable, I wouldn't leave it at the dealer's during the best season. Good luck.

Another testimony to the low quality of the RV industry. No winners here. This is the kind of stuff that keeps me from buying a new RV
