Strange, you go from someone who knew nothing about the use of Global Pickups to almost an Authority within the course of the thread :R
I never stated that I did not know anything about global pickups. I am not an expert on them, but I have been around my fair share of them in my time in the military and the places I have traveled.

Earlier on you said "no" when I stated they were different, now you state " I am not saying their the same" :R
You sure know how to troll
No, I didn't. Go back a read. You stated.....

You would be changing a fair bit actually to achieve the same payloads here,
Which I said no to because you don't have to "change a fair bit to on all our vehicles achieve the same loads there".
And then you followed that up with....

Yes, they have. The Global Colorado was rebuilt to give you the Chevrolet Colorado and the suspension and chassis was substantially changed
Current U.S. midsizers, do not have the hitch weight, to tow larger loads or structurally strengthened to take substantial loads.
Which I also said no to because it has more to do with each country's regulations, NOT each trucks carrying abilities like you are suggesting.
Here is where you also quoted that Motor Trend article backing up your claim that truck are different because the US Colorado uses a 40% lighter frame than the Global version. You figured that since it was lighter then it must be weaker. It is funny that is was okay for you to use it in your argument here, but when I showed proof from the very company who makes both frames that the US Colorado frame version is actually stronger, then you dismissed it as PR spin.
Which is it is it Robert? You used that "US Colorado frames are 40% lighter" as the basis of your whole argument to prove that US versions are weaker(even though it is the opposite in the example you used) and that they are different. You have been saying that the reason for the different capabilities of these trucks is because the Global versions are better with stronger parts. I keep trying to tell you that the difference in capabilities between countries has more to do each country's regulations just as your buddy stated earlier.

The different capacity ratings of the trucks by country have more to do with local habits, regulations, markets and legal issues, NOT capability, which is pretty much the same for all the trucks no matter where they will be sold.
