The F150 RegCab 144" wheelbase has a thicker frame when it comes with the HD Payload option. It also has a HD axle, wheels, stiffer suspension and LT tires.
The HP Payload F150s are designed and built to carry heavier loads than the non-HD payload F150s. And as I understand it, so are the world trucks. I suspect their low tow capacities are due to their low HP.
It is due to long bed configurations. The regular cab HD 144" with an 8 ft bed was the one that had a different frame from other long beds.

No. The 144" Reg Cab with the HD Payload Option has a heavier frame, HD axle, suspension, wheels and tires compared to the non-HD 144" Reg Cab because it is designed to carry more payload, up to 3000#.
The LWB SCrew already has the HD frame, so the HD Payload option just adds a HD axle, suspension, wheels and tires.
It's obvious to me at least that these high payload trucks are designed and built differently than the normal F150s.
The link you provided provides all the information needed to see this.
Then how would that explain that the SuperCrew with a 6.5" uses the same frame in both HD and non HD packages? As far as the Supercabs, if you get an 8 ft bed then it automatically bumps it up to the HD packaged and frame.
I know the HD package adds more to the suspension as well, but Robert up there was only talking about frames when he said......

No they are not the same, very different. The current F150 uses several frames, for different applications,
....which is why I told him his statement was incorrect about the frames. I don't see how you say he is correct there when he is obviously not?
