I take everything with a grain of salt.
I find it hard to believe that a global car company these days would be stupid enough to have different designs, and different frames for different parts of the world.
Yeah, they might change spring packs and wheels using local suppliers, but it would be in their financial best interest to save costs, and use a common frame design.
Toyota does have a different frame for the US based Tacoma. It is not a HiLux. Considering they sell 600k+ global HiLuxes, and only about 160k Tacoma's in the USA, I keep wondering how they could afford that, personally. It seems stupid.
The only reason Ford hasn't brought the global Ranger to the USA is because they are scared it would eat into F150 sales, and they will lose their "best selling truck for XX years" -self appointed crown.
As for Ford, the heavy duty payload package doesn't say anything about a different frame for the F150. I don't see Ford designing and producing a totally different chassis for a package that is only a small part of their market. There is no way an executive these days would approve that.
Each truck has its pluses and minuses, just be glad you have a choices, and it isn't a white Lada or a black Lada.
See below, nothing about an upgraded frame at all (copied from HERE).
