Out of curiosity...was the issue of whether or not AWD was better than 4WD settled? I have had 2WD for years and have been from Florida to Wyoming and parts east and west. For years, a good friend has strongly discouraged me from ever getting 4WD due to my penchant for finding "squiggly gray lines" on a map that turn out to be BLM roads. He says if I had a 4WD it would just take longer...and be more expensive to get me out once I got stuck.
However...when he got stuck on wet grass in his own yard in a 4WD... I didn't say a word. Seriously. Too busy laughing. 4WD sounds good these days.
