GM Number One in J.D. Power Initial Quality Study

GM Number One in J.D. Power Initial Quality Study
More than 83,000 customers have ranked GM the best initial quality automaker in this year’s J.D. Power Initial Quality Study.

This annual U.S. market-based online survey targets customers of 2013 model year vehicles sold November through February, at 90 days of ownership. This year, it has been redesigned to allow for more detailed customer feedback.

GM sweeps both the Large Heavy Duty Pickup Segment with the Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD, and Large Light Duty Pickup Segment with the Chevrolet Avalanche, GMC Sierra LD, and Chevrolet Silverado LD

  • Good for GM I like to see quality products in the marketplace.

I think Sync sank Ford. :)
  • Good news! Hope that award gets the stock prices higher before the USA dumps its shares. Congrats GM

If you Ram guys want to get the award, you're just going to have to come up with more money...:)

They blew that budget over at Motor Trend. :)
  • Those Mexicans who make GM's 1500 series trucks do a good job. They know how to make a good truck. Mine has been great :W

They must be a lot different than the last and they will be the last, couple GMs that I owned. Fuel pumps, Intake manifold leaks, brake pulls, transfer case, transmission not shifting....I wonder what GM paid them to win such a "distinguished" award???

    OhhhOHHH! that's a burn.

However. I can't speak to their 2013 trucks. But. Their passenger, Lamda Theda passenger cars are getting the BEST gearsets made.

  • So obvious and far from a surprise! Real quality begins with the first quality part started with and doesn't end until the very last quality part is added.

Very different from the sequense of starting with a low and/or lesser quality pig and dressing it up with eye catching glitz and glamour coverups and then advertising that it's the finest prime pork thru and thru.

So few consumers actually know or care about the total items they purchase or what is them they can't see or understand and then later complain about the constant costly repairs, component failures, and the very low resale value when sold or traded in. Self-inflicted and deservedly so.
