They shut down both factories for the changeover, albeit staggered. Model availability was low for a good chunk of 2015, which is said to have affected sales #'s.
It doesn't look like the GM midsize truck twins stole any significant sales from the Silverado/GMC full size. I seem to remember an article saying that ~50% of the midsize trucks GM sold are conquest customers (coming from another brand) so that is a big deal and a big win for GM. Wonder if Ford is kicking themselves yet...
Ford will be bringing the Ranger back. Sounds like it will be Unibody, which will hit a different part of the market, but I think it is a good idea.
After this amount of time I was curious to see what impact the C&C would have on the Taco. It appears based on the overall numbers, Toyota is not certainly not cowering in fear. Next year when the new Taco is on the lots it may be even worse. I don't think it is possible to topple that pickup from its perch.
