Here let me help. it's an Italian truck with a USA engine with parts made in India, put together by Mexicans? There you go. - jerem0621Explorer IIAnd then from left field Toyota comes out with an iForce Diesel with enough TQ to not only tow the space shuttle but to ground launch it into orbit. This time it will have timbrens from the factory!!!
Sorry.... Couldn't resist. - Turtle_n_PeepsExplorerWait what?
Where is all of the "HP wars are stupid, I don't need that much HP, this is crazy, why do we need this much HP to tow an RV, and all the rest of those comments?"
I wonder if this is going to bring out a new line of tuners that will de-rate these engines? - larry_barnhartExplorer

Those duramax trucks seem to still match or beat the completion even with lower numbers. Sometimes numbers can be all hype.
Not if you check out any recent comparison tests. They are dead last.
The D/A combo is still a good one, but the power numbers need an upgrade.
Why????
chevman - TurnThePageExplorerThe GM engines certainly have proven reliable of late, and seem pretty darned good at eeking out every last erg of rated horse power. I imagine they are hard at work on some new gas engines too. Personally, I hope GM gains HP/TQ parity, and the big three find a different part of the drive train to start one upping each other with.
Who ever is first with some more gears in the transmission wins the next contest. After that, my money's on some kind of hybrid system. - MARK_VANDERBENTExplorerGMs 6.0 is one of the most problem free, lowest cost of ownership engines out there. Plus when put up against the competition , they keep up real well. Many tests out there have proven it.

Now if they could only do something about their meager gasser hp numbers. I didn't even consider a GM because they are 50hp/49tq down when compared to the Hemi I bought. They are are also currently outgunned on the max tow and GCWR numbers in the gassers. I wonder what they have in mind to replace or improve the 6.0L gasser? - Dannyabear1ExplorerSo, it's an Italian truck with a USA engine put together by Mexicans?
