- edatlantaExplorer IISo real diesels are six cylinder? I had a Mercedes Benz 5 cylinder diesel years ago. I guess I was robbed.

Haul new campers out of Indiana across country. Its a lot of back and forth. Truck is on second DPF.
Did the Lucas solve the low oil pressure problem (~516,000)?
That's a lot of miles, more than I will ever put on a vehicle. - catfishmontanaExplorer

That's pretty impressive no matter the brand. I surely don't envy your job. - chevorExplorerMaintenance log

We had 6 diesel's that were huge...you could walk up on a gangplank to take cylinder readings.
They were 6 cylinder Nordberg diesel engines...took 200 psi to start them up...they were called 136 SC Nordberg's (believe that is the correct spelling)....SC stood for super charged.
Diesel Engine for Synchronous Generator
Nordberg Manufacturing Co.
Order # 9018-0508
Model # FS-136-SC
13" Bore
16 1/2" Stroke
RPM: 450
Anyway, they were 6 cylinder diesel engines...3 ran 24/7, then the 3 standby engines would rotate out with them...About the size of diesel they used in locomotives at one time... - Ric_FlairExplorerI though all REAL diesel engines were 2 stroke.

Impressive... Would you mind sharing what has had to be repaired/replaced in those 600K miles? Are you still running the original DPF? Lots we can learn from these high mileage guys. - ib516Explorer II
