GM's SUV based on the Colorado?

Anyone heard anything more from GM about building a SUV with the little Diesel based on the Colorado/Canyon.

There was talk about releasing it in the US. I wonder if GM thinks it will cannibalize sales of existing models?

I think that talk was coming from the automotive press. They would say things like "GM is considering" without actually citing a source.

It looks like the Expedition, Armada, and Sequoia are still around as well.

  • The 2018 Equinox will be available with the 1.6 liter Diesel. The other engine options are the 1.5 and 2.0 turbos.

    Production will start soon!
  • No, but I did read something about the possibility of a diesel Equinox.

I think a diesel SUV, based on the Colorado, would be a neat setup.
