The gearing for me is excellent. I live in FL and the truck has a lot of get up and go. It's also a 4x4. The latest generation of the 5.7 Hemi in the 2500 series truck is 385hp, 400 ft/lb torque at 4,000 rpm. The only motor with more HP is the Ford 6.2 and the bigger 6.4 Hemi (which is only available in 2014 models). I bought my truck about 2 months ago used, it's a 2013. I also found it very difficult to find any in my price range and under 50,000 miles with gearing other than the 3.73. Good luck
