I have different thoughts on different locations. When I'm at Disney, I light up things, just part of the experience to me. When I'm in a national park with no hookups, as little as possible. I may have solar awning lights that put off far less light than a coleman lantern but nothing for the most part. Occasionally I find my way to a state park mid week to bring my telescopes....don't want any light other than red flashlight. Of course by the weekend when things fill up it seems to be a contest so well hang our windsock lights.
Don't really understand the disco balls, scare lights, lasers and other stuff - but the same groups usually assume you want to listen to THEIR music also.
We are former backpackers so dark is what the woods are supposed to be....that is if your really in the woods.
