I agree with you 100%. My last TT, Springdale rugged Terrain, came from the factory with Load Range C LT tires. But this new TT weighs 7000# vs the SRT at 6000#. Now I'm in a bigger weight class C range tires don't offer enough safety factor to suit me although it came with the C Marathons.
My first thought was to replace them with Toyo M 55 15" LT but that is also a LR C tire and is only rated at 1820 and was going to be nearly $1000. As bad as I hate ST tires I ordered the Maxxis 8008 8 ply for less than half the $. I am hoping I didn't make a huge mistake!! Time will tell.
But since my TT came from the factory with a spring over, the first sign of trouble I will pony up the bucks for 5 16" wheels with LT tires!!
