Gun Rack

Not that this would be of help to you but maybe of interest to those looking at TCs. S&S truck campers have a built-in gun drawer. :)

In the past, others have posted that they keep them in cases under their mattress or a false platform that raises the mattress up enough to slide a gun case or long guns under. One point that I haven't seen addressed is the condensation that occur some areas, like cabinets and under mattresses in periods of cold weather with aux heat sources. Just be aware of that issue in storing your guns for periods of time.

I have a "Du-Ha" storage box under the back seat of my extended cab that works great for guns. I also have padded hard cases that get used and placed into the basement storage space.

A padded hard case works for me too. Some other ideas:

1. Build a horizontal gun locker into the headboard of the TC
2. Build a vertical gun locker out of hanging wardrobe closet
3. Use your TC basement storage
4. Attach a safe box in the rear of the truck cab

If you worry about theft, strip out an important piece of the firearm that you can keep with you or stow elsewhere. It may not prevent theft, but it will prevent use against you or others.

I have my rifles in a case which is then placed in my overhead bunk bed (the "kid-sized" one above the dinette, not the sleeping area over the cab.)

If you have this feature and and are not using it, I would recommend it for rifle and gun storage.
