UPDATE: Happijac leg is happy it's back on the TC in good working order. Followed the tutorial on how to dismantle and re-assemble the leg.
It was the shear pin that had to be replaced. There are 2 for everyones info, but only one sheared. Because the Outfitter is a fairly narrow TC, the front tiedowns bars are only about 1'" from the jack legs so when the jacks are being retracted(all at once), the steel foot on the bottom hooked the bar and as I was on the other side, did not realize that there was a problem until the shear pin holding the screw to the cylinder snapped and the inner black square tube fell to the ground . Looks like the jack is very strong lifting things but not when retracting.
Luckily, the local RV shop had the right kind of shear pin so I was up and running fairly quickly after I resembled everything and attached the jack to the TC. Got to regrease everything. No rust. Now I know how to fix a Happijac jack.
Will consult for cold beer.
