For rolling down the highway and using developed parks it would be hard to beat a hardwall with a basement on a dually. Rock steady. Only way to tell if the wind is blowing is to watch the trees.
Me personally, I would go non slide and a fiberglass clam shell construction...Bigfoot or Northern Lite. I wouldn't completely rule out a Cirrus though.
I agree on the fiberglass clam shell. Way less maintenance.
I do have the max payload SRW,F-350, gas engine, snow plow/camper packages. I've looked hard at the Northern Lite 10-2 CD.
Wonder how I would do with a Big Wig Sway bar and some upper or lower stable loads for a SRW. I could sell it and buy a dually. I'm way ahead on my loan for my 2017 F-350 SRW. Just sucks to change :( again
I had the Bigfoot on a 2016 RAM 3500 SRW with a payload of 4016#. Loaded heavy for a winter trip I was over payload, against tire limits, over GVWR, and against rear axle. I had a Bigwig and the rig was fairly stable but still not really confidence inspiring. I traded for the dually. I transferred the Bigwig to the dually.
If I had known I was getting a dually I would have gotten a Bigfoot 10.4 with dry bath, and still might.
When in doubt get a dually.
