I installed a 30A outlet at home myself. very easy to do. its wired like a standard 15A outlet. many people told me to install a 50A outlet but I decided no. I wont be camping in my driveway, just running a few things in the RV. and when I do get a new 50A RV I would just run a 30-50 dogbone connector to power up everything. the main thing is you cant run both A/C`s at the same time. and maybe the residential fridge.

I agree, big difference in cost, moving to 50amp. A 30 to 50 adapter can be used for a driveway hookup, if need ever arises. OP, needs to check electricians understanding of RV30. OP needs to check finished outlet with meter, BEFORE PLUGGING IN. Anyone can use a meter to check outlet, like pictured previously, and should be doing so, before plugging in at CGs.Jerry
Exactly why I posted - to check his understanding of RV30 - but first needed to understand myself.
I think for my use - the 30A will be fine - and using the 30 - 50 dogbone connector would be enough for my intended use on a 50A rig.
Thanks again.
