We would have never got our hay and straw in the barn if they couldn't be backed up. Anybody worth their salt learned how to do it the first day of baling; and we had no way to see over it, under it or on either side of it while backing it up.

Not necessarily. We have several big round bale wagons built like th OP said.

The problem with this design is that's it's for slow sped. At higher speeds they start to sway.

Maybe you could lock up the pivot on the dolly axle when backing up?

I've never seen a interstate trailer type set up with the wheels at the corners in a RV trailer. Useless IMO.

The unit would be all but impossible to back up and going around corners the rear axle(s) would cut across and make for a very wide corner.

Modern hay moving trailers today have the axles in the center of the trailer. Much easier backing into a area and don't take as much room turning as those old hay wagons did.

Would make watching people try to back into a tight campground space very fun to watch.

It can be done, and I've done it myself, but it is much more difficult than a standard trailer. Would you want to do that with your TT? I wouldn't!
