TOTAL BULL! The one I did 13 years ago is still bright and shiny and looks just like the day I installed it and I have seen it and taken the pics after selling the TC to a friend in 2009. Not one flake or loose aluminum foil spot anywhere and beside there cant be because the double stick tape totally encloses the side that faces the outside so it couldn't possibly drop flakes no matter what!
If silversand wants to he has my OK to post the 2 pics I had sent him a couple years ago of the inside of the front hatch after about 10+ years of being in there. Notice All the aluminum flaking off? NOT!
There's an aluminum angle about 1 X 1-1/2" I had pop riveted to the rear of the cover and bent down about 15 degrees so the hatch cover can be opened a couple inches even in a heavy rain and still not have any rain splatter come in on the bed. Just have to think your way thru potential problems!
Line X doesn't have any insulation value at all. I'm an engineer and know and feel free to research it before you are led down a ficticous garden path!
