I can understand what you are saying for a normal OEM hatch, but I gather you have never seen the Heki up close and in person. It is very different than the one you are describing. The materials are very different, the construction is very different. If anyone wants to try it, I wish them luck. Please post pictures when you are done, I'd like to see it.
