Here is a link discussing towing with the 93 Land Cruiser.

You will definitely want a brake controller (Prodigy is the one I like) and 7 pin RV connector. Do NOT get 6-pin, 7-pin round, or any of the others.
If you retain the 4-pin in whatever plugin you mount on the tow vehicle ('TV'), great. But don't worry if the one you get is only 7-pin. A simple plugin adapter is cheap and easy. I carry one in the 4Runner, along with 2", 2-5/16" receivers, so can connect to just about everything we use. 1-7/8" is very rare for our uses.
Be sure to check your TT (Travel Trailer- camper) weights. You will likely need a WDH (Weight Distribution Hitch)- check craigslist or whatever. They can be pricey new.
Older campers and vehicles often need some TLC and 'sweat equity' but mostly do just fine. Buy a new TV and a new camper if you want, it's the easiest but most expensive solution.
Or ask lots of Q's and be ready to sift through the (mostly good) advice you get.
Now a very serious thing to consider. You do realize you are planning to take a 20 yr old vehicle and put it under a LOT of stress, right? Are you prepared for motor, transmission, suspension, electrical, etc issues, should they come up? They may not, but if you are like me and figure, "Do what she'll do as long as she'll do it," then have at it ;)
BTW, if you don't frequent some of the better Toyota forums, you may want to start. Lots of vehicle-specific tips there, just as telling us your specific camper make and model will get you both general and very specific tips here.
Camping with your family is a wonderful experience. Whether you travel every day and fulltime, leave it in one place and visit 'camp' or just barely get it there until you decide to upgrade, it is about the experience and time you share together. Everything else is just decoration ;)
Congrats on your new camper!
