Toothpicks will work, but I am a fan of golf tees. A bit of glue in the hole, you can "set" the tee with a slight tap of the hammer. Cut them off when dry...hole is once again solid wood.
Or you can just buy a couple wall anchors, as others have suggested. Toggles are not needed...just ask the hardware guy/gal for a couple plastic wall anchors.
