Ok thank you for all the great replies and considerations. Lots of good things to think about. The good thing is, shopping can be fun. And I can reconsider a pop top. In fact, my neighbor who just bought a Hideout trailer (by Keystone) because his wife is a disabled Olympic athlete in a wheelchair and it had the best footprint for that, and for her to do all that she needs from her chair, has access to his father in law's pop top camper that I have already slept in once.
Basically, I am trying to replace tent camping for my wife and I and have one extra bed. I could do that with my neighbor's camper for very little dough at all. I will
Find out what brand. And it would be lighter. No bathroom but I don't care. It has an outside shower. I could just add an awning and set up cooking with add on stuff.
I really do not want a rolling apartment. I want sleeping quarters with heat and a bed, and some cover outside in which to create a hang out.
Also an easier sell to my wife. We are not getting a 30k unit approved by the finance committee in addition to a truck. ;-)
I could try it out with the neighbor's unit and go bigger if I think I want to.
