Sitting here with the current owner of the camper, which is a 90 something Northstar pop up, made in Texas. He is also my neighbor, and the owner of the new Hideout. That, and the back of an Rpod gave me the ideas for the outdoor spaces I was looking to re-create. Not necessarily as an all built in camper. EDIT, kinda like sidecar flip says below. But with blue tooth speakers and solar mood lights.
@sidecarflip, Jeff here says he puts all his camping stuff in the middle of the camper, the stuff that for us would have gone in the Suburban. That will all fit as it will be less stuff now that we won't be carrying large 4 inch foam camping pads. Tents, our typical camping boxes, which will be less now that we stow all the cooking stuff in the camper. So that will reduce it to one box.
So the design and pop top idea would work. But we are talking through it, and this particular one may have some hang ups. For one thing, it has only 3 jacks, much less 4 power jacks. So will have to price some stuff out on the improvements vs. buying something newer. Starting cheap and adding things on for what I want, or getting a newer package. Just math.
