figured out part of the problem today.
I used 5/8 inch wrenches or sockets to take off the other three pads.
Following another suggestion here, I tried some of my metric sockets to see if they would work.
Absolutely cannot use a socket on the rear pad, but trying for size on the three removed, I found that the nut is indeed a 15mm nut, not 5/8 as I had been using.
:S I should have known.
Went and purchased a 15mm combination wrench. It would be correct size, and fit into the tight quarters where the nut is located.
And (another :S) the poor nut is too messed up for the wrench to grab. Mind you, it would grab if I were turning the other way and attempting to tighten. A lot of good knowing that.
Back to the drawing board.
