A nice older Lazy Daze class C motorhome with low miles. Nice family owned high end motor home manufacturer.
A truck camper requires an expensive truck, suspension upgrades, Tie downs and then your still too crowded and climbing steps to get in. Some trucks require fuel system upgrades, transmission upgrades. Tires and wheel upgrades. Ever see a guy just tossing money over and over?
^This is not a bad option either. I mean considering a Class C in general.
Every rv has its pluses and minuses.
I'm my case I wanted something that I could tow with (C also fits the bill for this), already had the "expensive" truck and would have it whether we had a TC or not and wanted a reasonable length all season, all roads capable RV.
What covers wagon says makes sense financially and functionally, IMO, if you are only getting a truck to haul the camper and it will be parked otherwise. If you're using it as a DD car as well, then the favor starts sliding back towards better investment in a truck and TC. All budget dependent of course.
You can get more camper for the $ with a C and more truck for the money with a TC.
And in your case, you can keep your presumably economical vehicle as a DD and only need to pump gas thru a big fuel sucking V8 when you're actually camping.....with twice as much camper space even in a smaller C.
