Help with Outdoor Speakers

It seems every time we have gone out this season, there is another issue with our new, 2016 Forest River Heritage Glen. This weekend it was the outdoor speakers. There are 3 modes of listening- A,B and C. The indoor speakers, front and back ( A,B) work well. When C is chosen- silence. What I can't figure out is how to check for faulty wiring. The speaker did work when I took delivery 2 months ago and has worked on previous trips. I'm not sure how to check the wiring because I don't see how the radio is attached (not screws, hardware, etc..) and where the speakers hang outside, on the inside are cabinets and there are no visible wires. Anybody ever been in this situation?
Thanks.

  • My radio is accessible by removing a panel in the cubby that the TV sets in front of. I actually wired a 3rd pair of speakers in over the bed so we can hear it when we are watching a movie. As some have said..the connection wiring was a mess. Its just like car stereo wiring.
  • On ours, the front bezel plate around the radio/stereo pops off (you gently pull on it). With the bezel off you can get to the screws that hold the radio/stereo in. Once out you can check the wiring behind it.

We solved our outside speaker problem with using a wireless BLUETOOTH speaker setup purchased from AMAZON. WALMART has a big selection for different Bluetooth type speakers. Unbelievable sound quality and you just sit the speaker anywhere with no wiring. Works all around the outside of the trailer areas.

If it was demonstrated when you got your trailer they have to be there somewhere. Perhaps they are to be plugged in an outside jack or something. Look for two speakers stowed inside the trailer somewhere. If the speakers were built-in surely you would be able to see where they are mounted outside.

My POPUP trailer has outside weatherproof speakers built-in to the patio side outside wall... The JENSEN Radio uses the front-back controls to run the inside-outside-both depending where you have the controls set...

  • C works for outdoor speakers while A and B control the inside. On our radio there are four screws, one in eaxh corner, to remove and the radio pulls out. Youll need a square head screw driver. The wiring job for the speakers is half arse at best and you may have to redo the connections.
  • I don't have a forest river, but on mine, A is inside, B is outdoor and C doesn't do anything
