Wonderful thread! I grew up tent camping, have lived for 6 weeks (two of us) in VW bug with bed platform inside it, my first car as a teen was a 'cornbinder' (an International Scout, not the later ScoutII). I loved working on it.
And I still like sleeping under the stars the best :).
