About the time we bought the CJ8, I spied the #6 4WD. It was a 1973 Jeep J-4700 pickup for parts. T98 trans, Dana 60-2, rr axle all for $300. I sold the stripped Jeep for $200.
#7. 1990 Jeep not-so-grand Cherokee XJ. I rolled this one off a cliff in Telluride. First roll was and endo, and then four subsequent barrel rolls 125 feet off the edge.
8. 1989 Jeep XJ Limited replacement for the 1990, both with the Renix injection 4.0L system. By now the kids have flown the nest.
9. 2001.5 DODGE 4X4 2500 CTD, HO, SB, (to fit in the L.A. Music Center parking garage), camper and tow packages, and a car trailer to tow my CJ8 to the trailhead. Soon after we bought a Lance truck camper. Time is marching on and we’re not camping in the back of a wagon anymore.
10. 2004 Nissan Murano, AWD, SE grocery getter.
11. 1999 Jeep XJ with 3” lift and LS diff. (Jeanie’s best winter car)

12. 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited (Jeanie’s next car)

13. 2007 Kioti, 3-cyl., 35 HP, 4WD diesel tractor with humongous snow blower.

Funny wheels for the landed gentry.
So, that’s one man’s lifetime list of four wheel drives cum RV’s that have risen to the occasion and mostly faded into the mists of time. We're down to 4, 4WD's now (if you count the Kioti) and each has it's seasonal job to do.
