It will be interesting to see what the Fuelly website shows as the average mpg for those trucks. Hopefully they have a good option to breakdown the exact engine type for the V6's. All I know is that I currently exceed the average MPG's that the current Ecoboost trucks are posting on Fuelly. Sadly, it seems like the RAM HD's have the same average MPG's as the Ecoboost trucks. And the same can be said for the Ford HD's with Diesels versus the F-150's. Funny thing is, there are Duallies and people who tow more often with those bigger trucks and yet they still average the same fuel economy as lots of those F-150's. I'm sure on a perfect day with no wind on a dynonometer that it may pull off 30mpg, but I want to see some real-world MPG ratings. I know Motortrend has embarked on a "Real MPG" metric where the vehicles are measured out in the exposed environment using the same instrumentation that the EPA trusts, but they still use the same type of fuel that the EPA does (very specifically blended Unleaded or Diesel). RAM 1500 Ecodiesel set the benchmark (I believe Motortrend tested some sort 4x4 crew cab RAM with 3.92 gears that achieved in their books 19/26/21), I want to see if Ford's 2.7 reaches or exceeds it in the same test as Motortrend is doing. I would also like to see the Ford being tested as a 4x4 crew cab with Ford's towing axle (most likely 3.73). It will be interesting to read when those tests start coming out.
