HiJacker camper jack sticking.

I can only retract one of the HiJacker hydraulic jacks 8". It's used for lifting the canopy/boat loader off, so it's not a major problem. Has anyone had one apart?
  • There is a bolt on the bottom of the leg.Take it out.The lower tube while slide out. Then you will see the rod that slides past the seals. It sometimes rusts. This is as far as you get with out special tools to access the seals.Tool is no longer made. But it is 2 pins welded to a pipe.
  • Thanks for the link to the manual. My brother had 3 jacks included with an old Vanguard TC he bought, they were pretty rusty when I got them, so I had them rebuilt. Does the leg slide off exposing the cylinder rod?
  • Any chance you have to much oil in it. You can try taking out the fill screw and try to push it in.Other thing is the jack tube rusts and you can clean it up.It slides together with the one sticking out sliding into another tube. Here is a link
