Anyone out there running a honda 2000 genny on propane? If so what are your likes and dislikes and how does it compare db wise to gas? Input greatly appreciated

Bedlam,
If you do a little research you will find the generator watt maximum output is reduced by about 20% when using propane fuel due to its lower energy content. This is the same for any gas engine converted to propane fuel.
which is another reason that I would get the 2400 for a few hundred more. and since you aren't going to take it on a hike, the extra pounds would not be a show stopper, IMHO.

If I spend the money I want one that I know will run my 11,000 BTU AC unit. I feel that the Yamaha 2400 Hybrid is up for that task, so I guess I would have to put up with the larger physical size and weight.
My Honda EU2000i runs my 11,000 BTU AC unit just fine.
In fact with a test run it ran my 11,000 BTU AC unit for 6.5 hours on one small tank of gas in Honda before stopping , got to like that:)

When purchasing my new Honda 2000,I ask the sales person about a propane conversion for it.His reply was that honda does not offer them and does not suggest using them. Also doing so would void the warranty. Just saying.

The propane conversions for generators require high pressure propane.

Tapping the high pressure line is the only way to go. Everything has a regulator.
