Horror Stories

We drove a new 08 GMC to Florida in July of 07. The dash was 140 degrees one day so if this was happening many time cracking could happen to any dash.

I could tell you the track record on the number of RAM's I saw pulling campers on our trip to Florida and back, or should I say the lack of! From TX, LA, Miss, AL, Fl, the ratio of RAM trucks compared to GM and Ford was a shocking 10:1 with Ford and GM at a very close race. But maybe they weren't full timers like you report. :R

I seen more Ford Super Duty 6.0 PSD going to Florida than I saw RAM cummins of any year going there and back combined. :W

BTW... The half ton trucks had RAM at a much less ratio but that's another thread.

Take off the blinders Troy, you missed half of the traffic! Go to Indiana and get real results from non myopic folks like you.

Share your towing experience in the flat lands of Florida :B Yeah I can hear it now..... 20 MPG @ 15k GVW and your fuel was only a buck seventy per gallon.

Yep, sure is a Ford thread, one of the reasons I now very happily drive a Cummins/Ram! After I did my research and being a 45 year Ford owner, I chose to get a RAM with a Cummins, the one that I liked the best only had 234,000 miles, do many 6.0 make it that far without major repairs???

Ford needs to be watching their back as RAM seems to have a One, Two, Three punch!!

2500/3500 Cummins
2500/3500 6.4 Hemi
1500 RAM Ecodiesel

It won't happen tomorrow, but at current sales Ram will catch GM and Ford.

I WAS a Ford man, but with my 2001, I have been very impressed with the Cummins, and the RAM!!

Let's throw a 6.7 Cummins and/or an auto tranny into the mix an the picture doesn't look so perfect like you describe.

Can we discuss 7.3 PSD Super Duty's since we're going back so far in time. :W

Not bad for a truck with less than 150k miles. I footed the bill for an 05 a while back with gray interior that didn't far so well.

8 pages and the OP has never been back, I think you guys must have spooked him with all the horror stories!!!

I've only had that happen one time. Never did find the truck.

The buzz word of the day :R , but being that we sold our TT and will not be getting anything large until we retire there is no need to keep a 2500. My trip up to Dads this weekend running 75 MPH on the OTP netting me 23.4 MPG in the old girl. Not to bad for a truck that weights in at 7200#! Just ready for a change and with what the E-diesels make mileage wise and the air ride I can't be hurt. As long as the dash pad doesn't split wide open and swallow the whole truck! :B :W

Should be a good rig for you. Just wish Cummins and RAM could have made a deal.

2004 F250 6.0 105,000 Miles. Left it stock,Change fuel filter @15,000 miles. Use mobil 1 Turbo diesel oil and change it every 5,000 . Its Been a great truck we use it for pulling our fifth wheel and boat.

2015 Ram 1500 Eco-Diesel. :B. 2014 if this guy buys the truck in the next few days.

At that vintage Ford and GM had the same issues with their dashboard. There are two Rams one across the street the other three doors down. One 98 the other 97, neither have a cracked dash. Rotted out rear wheelhouse openings, but both are 4X4 that look like they haven't been washed in 2 years.
