Ford 2015 Specifications
The F450 has a maximum GVWR of 14,000 pounds and a maximum payload capacity significantly less than the F350 DRW. (Ford has made different versions of the F450 but this is what I could find for 2015). The F450 can tow a lot more than a F350 but the current version can apparently carry less (this was certainly true in 2013 when I was looking). The handicap for hauling loads is the Diesel engine which reduces the carrying capacity by as much as 1,000 pounds. (If you go the the link above and click on "chassis" you will see that for some reason the rear axle rating of the F450 is less than the F350. Misprint? who knows but I would look very carefully before going to a 450).
I would look closely at your weights and decide how much you are willing to push them. Many people here are willing to go over GVWR and worry only about axle ratings. I wasn't comfortable doing that so I chose a 2013 F350 DRW CC 6.2l (14,000 GVWR, 6230 lb payload capacity in our trim level - note that fancy trim can cut a lot into your payload). Loaded, I found I was weighing as much as 13,700 pounds even with the gas engine. I believe the camper you are looking at may weigh even more than my AF 1150.
Some people will go out, for example, with only partly full tanks to reduce the weight but I never understood why you would limit yourself that way in a truck camper. I got large capacities in my camper because I want to use them.
