I would say your truck is a lot like mine. I have the factory air suspension. I love it. True story. Earlier this year I loaded the camper on the truck and was going to a shoot at Knob Creek. I loaded a few guns and a lot of ammo. Camper had no water in it. I drove about 20 miles to my local cat scale. Drove great. I was 15,800
total. OK, to much weight for me. KC is 1000 miles round trip. I am lighter coming back though. I took 2 guns out and about a third of the ammo. Went back and weighed. 15,100. I went with it. Filled with water when I got there. No issues at all.
Ram rates your rear axle at 9750. AA who builds it rates it higher, 10-11k. Check your tire ratings, you should be good with the factory ones. Host says my TC weighs 4275 and they were spot on, I checked 10 minutes after loading it the first time. Enjoy it
I just picked up an enclosed trailer for future creek trips. All weight will go in the trailer and I will be using a WD hitch. I will also be loading the trailer with a scale under the ball so I can keep track of tongue weight.
