Okay, I didn't read all the other posts... But, why do you need to leave a gen running at your site when you are not there?
I will take my 3000i Honda gen with me when I know I need it, but it only runs when I'm in the trailer and it stays in the back of the truck while it's running..
Sure, that's how "I" run mine and maybe you have other reasons for running it in the site when you aren't there, so that's your choice. I've seen rigs running their gens when they are gone all day long and all they did was use a cable lock on the gen.
Sure, they probably had some animal or other living being inside the rig, but that's what I've seen them do not knowing one way or the other.
For me, I don't run my gen unless I need it..
