I never said to leave it running at the campsite when we go off.
I was comparing leaving it in the truck when we go off (where it is exposed to whoever is around our truck at the places we park) vs. leaving it at the campsite (not running) when we go off (where it is exposed to whoever is around our camper).
I missed that part and didn't really read your OP either... Just goes to show what happens when you reply before knowing the facts.. My bad.. :)
I lock mine in the bed of the truck. I have a tonneau cover to keep it out of sight, so that is probably the difference with your setup.
