We just received a new receiver hitch cargo tray from our kids that was a fold up style. Didn't like that feature so it's at the welding shop getting a new more stable stinger, steps welded to one side to match camper door location and a fold up bottom step. On the other side I installed a locking tray thru the expanded metal. These bolts rotate when the generator is in place so no removal there. Another plate is bolted between the rubber feet on the generator and has a welded shroud that the lower plate's tab extends up thru. These bolts can't be accessed when assembled either. A Master Lock drops down into that space and locks the whole thing together. Have a keyed to my truck receiver hitch lock on the stinger attachment to the truck. The cover that came with the generator stays on out on the road but I'm a bit paranoid so attach a biggie cord over that. They are also cutting out a step width of the short rail that goes around the whole tray to allow easier step up access from the new step configuration. Repurposing the initial steps our son in law made for us when we picked the camper up which worked but didn't line up with our door. Another oops adventure. Don't like to waste anything useful. Will try for pics but I'm a real ditz on pic posting. The locking generator plate was a bit pricy but not near as expensive as a "walking" Honda 2000. The load rating was 500# on the tray with the initial floppy receiver, should be better now. With the added gussets where the rail will be removed should retain structural integrity of the whole thing. May add a solid piece of metal where we step on the tray so the expanded metal doesn't sag, although this tray has 4 square tubing cross supports already. Of course this arrangment doesn't allow for towing. However, the bottom tray can be moved to a trailer by unbolting and relocating it with longer bolts if needed. Now if I can just figure out how to get a mount on this contraption to use my bike rack...... , oh, looked up where we got ours: www.loprolockdown.com/allproducts. They have them for Honda 2000 and 3000, Yamaha, and Champion and their prices are the same as the cheapest on other sites.
