Obviously, many of us disagree. Although it could be a regional thing. With 80 mph speed limits, the dynamics change a lot.
I live in Nevada, and also do a lot of driving in Utah. Speed limit on the freeways in both states is 80 mph. So now traffic seems to be routinely moving around 90 mph; the stats in the local paper show the Nevada Highway Patrol giving out tickets for speeds over 100 mph...seems to me the last one I remember was for 112 mph.
When I'm on the freeway with truck/camper I try to stay ~ 65 mph. But it is easy to get caught up in the flow of traffic and exceed the speed limit. After a camping trip in Utah with my big 4x4 conversion van I was resetting the stats on the GPS unit and was a bit shocked to see that at some time or other I had hit a max speed of 91 mph.
