How level is your truck camper loaded?

I use the eye ball test.

3 of our 4 truck camper combos failed the test. Ended up getting air bags which I ran at different pressures.

The current camper appears dead level.

I think my load master training from years ago makes me feel differently about uneven loads. If you have to adjust suspension differently left to right, you should examine what you are carrying and try to balance it out. I'm less than a couple hundred pounds side to side difference on my rear axle and do not have to compensate through the suspension.

I once had contact with a VW vaganon user on the Samba forum.
He first gave the tires the same deflection ( measured middle of wheel to ground) and it gave ( by head ) RF45, LF 40, RR 50,LR 55psi, so crossed weightdifferences between the axles that you will see often when weighing per wheel(pair).

Then He leveled the car ( think putting wheelsheelds on same hight L/R, and then his tires where again different deflected.

Did not ask but assumed Front Right was lower and rear left lower to the ground, so it can even be different front and rear.
This gives torsion in the frame, wich compensated the real weightdifferences a bit.

By leveling these torsion forces where brougth backt to practically zerro and so the real weightdifferences came up wich deflected the heavy sides more.

So if you have some kind of leveling system , be ware that the needed pressure of tires must be higher.
In fact if you weighed you should reweigh when leveled, or level before weighing per wheel( pair) to have the real weights on seperate wheels at once.

Everywhere its written to keep the pressure Right and left the same.
Yustification for that can be that the mass on the axle gives equall sideward forces on R and L , so the stifness of sidewall has to be the same.

When loaded and parked it is slightly lower on the right. When driving down the highway it is even............ think it could have something to do with the weight of the driver :h

mine seems about perfect. In fact, I use the app in my I phone to check it.

If you have an I Phone, look in the compass app, then swipe the screen to the left and you'll see a nice floating level. I set it on the armrest to help pick my camping/parking spot. I used to eyeball it then get out and check the bubble levels I installed on the back and side. Now, just look at the phone.
It seems to exactly match what my bubble levels say. Much easier.

First thing to do is measure the distance from the ground to the bumper on each side when the truck is empty. There are very few trucks that are level even empty when brand new. My 2011 Ford was 3/4" lower on the passenger side when it was new. So you have to use this baseline before checking it loaded up.

Mine leans toward the slide side quite a bit. I run more airbag pressure on that side, and purposely load heavy items to the other side. Still leans a bit....noticeable in the corners. I'm hoping that the anti-sway bumpers from torque lift are going to help. Installing this week.

Kinda tough to be level side to side on many roads, due to the crown on a given road. Front to rear, my truck is at the same angle with or without the TC. It is my preference, so I do not blind you with my headlights and put us both in danger. I also prefer to see the road, and not the tree tops.

It is simple for me to do with airbags. Never could with fixed springs/overloads. Shure would be nice if others could/would keep their headlights adjusted.
