One of the best checks is to go to a scale and weigh each wheel on it's own. Yes, there can be several hundred pounds difference from one side to the other.
The purpose of airbags is to correct the side to side differences, and not to compensate for inadequate springs. Tire pressure should be a little bit different if the scale determines one side is carrying more.
