This is an interesting thread. I have never boondocked. Closest I came is camping without sewer. :)
That said I am very intested in boondocking especially after fitting the RV with solar (when I can afford it). I guess the initial investment would be to get a pair of 6V batteries. Not partial to using generators at all.
The thing is this new trailer of ours only has 37 gal tanks (FW, GW and BW) so water may well be the limiting factor as I like to shower daily. Using CG showers would likely not be an option unless the facilities were exceptional. Could get a water carrier I suppose, and lug potable water to fill up the FW tank. For black and grey water I have a tote so that should not be an issue. Don't see me boondocking for more than a week though. Wife is another story -- she may actually be the limiting factor. ;)
